Important Update From CMS- “Revised Guidance for Long-Term Care Facility Assessment Requirements”

On June 18, 2024, CMS Issued a memorandum (Ref: QSO-24-13-NH) covering the “Revised Guidance for Long-Term Care Facility Assessment Requirements” that is effective August 8th, 2024. The purpose of this webinar is to provide an overview of the latest CMS Requirements for conducting a comprehensive Facility Assessment. We will also cover and provide a Policy Template for your organization to add to your existing Emergency Operations Plan.

Overall Workshop Objectives:

  1. Participants will review the intent and content of the CMS Memorandum (Ref: QSO-24-13-NH)  “Revised Guidance for Long-Term Care Facility Assessment. Requirements”

  2. Participants will receive an overview of the CHUG CMS Facility Assessment Policy Template.

  3. Participants will understand how to utilize and revise the CHUG CMS Facility Assessment Policy Template for their organization’s Emergency Operations Plan.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR
Bill Pretzer, MA, CHUG Co-Founder, Director of Operations & Training

Bill is a retired 31-year veteran of the Fire Service. As a Battalion Chief with the Park Ridge Fire Department, Bill was responsible for Emergency Response, Disaster Preparedness, and Health and Safety for the department. Bill has an Associate Degree in Biology from Wright College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-Med from Northeastern Illinois University, and a Master’s Degree in Safety and Health Administration from De Paul University. Bill was also a graduate and class president of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command as the initial Firefighter who recognized the value of education provided by Northwestern University.  For over the past 20 years, Bill has been the Director of Operations and Training for the Collaborative Healthcare Urgency Group (CHUG). CHUG provides planning, preparedness, response, and recovery systems and processes for Healthcare Organizations. Bill is also regularly active in the community.


CHUG provides long-term care organizations with expert coordination of evacuation, transportation, relocation and shelter-in-place services.
