Workshop Overview:
Approximately 75% of the nearly 25,000 Workplace Assaults reported occurring in healthcare or social-service settings. This workshop will prepare your staff to identify potential workplace violence threats, provide guidance to safely manage a workplace violence incident, and assist in recovery from violence in the workplace.
Workshop Objectives:
Review workplace violence statistics and incidents
Identify conditions and situations in the workplace that may precede workplace violence
Understand how to recognize behaviors and early signs of potential acts of violence
Identify the signs of an escalating threat of workplace violence
Learn how to respond appropriately and to decrease the threat of escalating
Identify signs and symptoms of staff members experiencing traumatic stress from acts of violence
Identify strategies to help staff members experiencing post-traumatic stress
