Fall Community Full Scale Exercise- Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI)

Workshop Overview:

A full-scale exercise is defined and accepted as any operations-based exercise that assesses a facility’s functional capabilities by simulating a response to an emergency that would impact the facility’s operations and its given community. The purpose of the FSE is to perform the operational coordination, communication, infection control/ prevention and mass care tasks for Healthcare Organizations during a Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) scenario. 

Workshop Objectives:

  • Identify key planning elements including plans, policies, and procedures during the simulated incident. 

  • Discuss and document an initial assessment of multiple incidents and discuss the appropriate actions and tasks to reduce or eliminate loss of life and property. 

  • Identify key National Incident Management System roles and responsibilities and their functions during the simulated incident, and more.

Recommended Participants:

Nursing Home Administrators, Director of Nursing, Facility Managers, Emergency Response or Safety Team Members, Nurses and Social Workers and all other staff required to simulate a Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) Response.
