Patient Movement and Mobility Issues

Workshop Overview:

This workshop is designed to provide the participant with the knowledge to safely and effectively move and transport patients during an evacuation. Virtual presentations will cover horizontal and vertical movement of patients utilizing various techniques and equipment focusing on insuring that the individual's physical and medical needs and requirements are met throughout the evacuation process.

  • Review important health and safety issues for moving patients

  • Discuss patient mobility issues and how to communicate them to staff

  • Provide an overview of rescue/ evacuation equipment

  • Demonstrate safe and effective utilization of rescue/ evacuation equipment
