CARING FOR ANIMALS DURING UNPLANNED EVENTS AND EMERGENCIES
Losing a pet can be a sad time for a family, but losing a pet to a tragedy that was preventable can take even longer to recover from. In order to help families proactively prepare for the unexpected, the International Animal Welfare Training Initiative (IAWTI) offers training and resources to spread awareness to keep our furry friends safe.
“Many pet owners would never want to leave their animals behind, but they haven't made an emergency plan for their pets. When a town must evacuate due to a major emergency, such as a fire, many people refuse to leave without their animals. This puts them and emergency responders at risk.”
