STAFF SHORTAGES PLAGUE SKILLED NURSING INDUSTRY BEYOND HOME HEALTH COMPETITION

According to Skilled Nursing News, the healthcare industry has suffered largely due to staff shortages, but that’s not all. Nursing homes have taken the brunt of pandemic effects due to low salaries and little opportunity for advancement.

When we look at home health care, the number of jobs in this sector has increased dramatically compared to other medical industry hires.

“Health care added 2,000 jobs in November, however, nursing and residential care facilities lost 11,000 jobs. The overall health care sector is down by 450,000 since February 2020.”

CHUG UPDATES: It’s always a good idea to check smoke alarms this time of year due to increased heat sources and holiday decor.
