FEMA JOINS THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FOR #SAFEPLACESELFIE CAMPAIGN

When disasters strike, they are unplanned and can be scary. That’s why it’s important to have emergency plans in place that take into account the unexpected.

Are you prepared in the case of an emergency?

“Get the whole family involved in the creative process. Do you have young children or a pet? What is your plan to protect them?”

April is Youth Preparedness Month. To bring awareness to this month’s focus, participants were encouraged to take selfies in a place where they felt safe to help spread the word about preparedness on social media.

CHUG UPDATES: If you’re a family with pets, chances are, your children adore their furry companions. At CHUG, part of emergency preparedness is making sure that the entire family understands how each person can safely exit during an at-home unplanned event, and this includes having an action plan for your pets, too!
