SKILLED NURSING INDUSTRY HIT HARD WITH MILLIONS IN FINES DURING PANDEMIC

According to NJ.com, citations for non-compliance are a very real risk to the healthcare sector. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the number of fines brought to nursing home facilities, sometimes in the millions of dollars. Take New Jersey, for instance.

“Long-term care facilities were hit with $12.1 million in fines, with the majority levied by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and $250,000 by the state health department. The facilities were not identified by name and a health department spokeswoman said the list would not be available Monday.”

If your healthcare facility is worried about the high cost of citations and your inability to combat them on your own or recover once they’ve been administered, contact CHUG today.
