MASS VACCINATION PLAN FOR LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES AND RAMPED UP RAPID TESTING
In a recent FEMA webinar, Local County Health Departments shared that they practiced mass vaccination with the seasonal flu vaccine using their drive-through plan, and plan to use what they’ve learned to help long-term care facilities get fast access for those most at risk.
With Moderna’s vaccine anticipated first, ultra-cold freezers are being purchased to store the vaccine for long-term care facilities.
In addition, facilities will be receiving Rapid tests to quickly identify outbreaks and control spread.
CHUG UPDATES: Did you know that as of January 2020, that resources such as generators, heating and cooling are a part of CHUG member benefits?
CMS requires organizations to have a mutual aid agreement on file. In addition, they require mutual aid, emergency response, or a vendor contract for a generator supplier. Life Safety Surveyors are asking for your CHUG mutual aid agreement and or resource (emergency response agreement) to ensure that your organization is prepared for a long-term power outage. If your organization does not have an updated CHUG mutual aid agreement, CHUG will be sending out a new one for 2021 in November.
