CITY OF CHICAGO 2023 WHOLE COMMUNITY TRAINING SUMMIT

The City of Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications is hosting a Whole Community Training Summit on Thursday, November 16th, 2023 at the NIU Naperville Campus Conference Center from 8-4 PM Central.

“This event is the second of a multi-year plan to provide whole community engagement and training for 2022 (Focus: Preparedness), 2023 (Focus: Response), and 2024 (Focus: Recovery). This summit will feature various vendor booths and provide food and beverages to all attendees.”

Continuing Education Hours will be offered through Northern Illinois University.

TENTATIVE AGENDA:

  • 7:30am - Registration

  • 8:00am - Welcome and Opening Speaker

  • 8:25am - Highland Park 4th of July Parade Mass Shooting Response (General Session)

  • 10:00am - Disaster Mental Health Response (Breakout Session)

  • 11:15am - What to Expect During Response (Breakout Session)

  • 12:15pm - Lunch

  • 1:15pm - Training (Breakout Session)

  • 3:00pm - Emergency Response: What about the Deaf, DeafBlind, & Hard of Hearing Community? (General Session)

  • 4:00pm - Closing
