Workshop Overview:

In today's society, we are faced with the real threat of having an active intruder threatening lives within our healthcare facilities. Learn from our subject matter experts how to plan, prepare, respond, and recover from an active intruder/ shooter.

This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 2 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval # 20241017-2-A97499-DL. CEUs are approved for Licensed Long Term Care Administrators through the National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB).

  • Define Active Intruders/Shooters

  • Describe characteristics of an Active Intruder and Active Intruder incidents

  • Describe actions to take to prevent and prepare for potential Active Intruder incidents

  • Describe actions to take when confronted with an Active Intruder

  • Describe actions to take with the responding law enforcement officials

  • Identify indicators of violence

  • Review Healthcare facility considerations
