Board Members

Jennifer joined the CHUG Board in 2013.  She is the founder and president of Paxem, Inc., and president of Elderwerks since 2011.  In her position, Jennifer helps seniors transition into senior housing and other opportunities.  Jennifer’s area of expertise includes management, expert in senior housing and care, capacity planning, organization planning and strategic planning for moves.  Jennifer believes that CHUG is an important aspect to senior housing that every senior community and hospital should be part of.

Jennifer became a CHUG board member in 2013. She has worked in the healthcare industry for 20 years and a licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 1999.  Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in Business/Accounting from the College of the Ozarks and her Masters in Recreation Administration from the University of Mississippi. While in Mississippi Jennifer was the Executive Director for the Lafayette County Red Cross where she gained a great respect for disasters and the difference being prepared can make on lives.  She lives in Oak Park with her husband Eric.

Tricia Mullin –Treasurer

Tricia Mullin joined the Board in 2015. Tricia is a gerontologist with over twenty years of experience in the field of aging. She has worked with Chicagoland Methodist Senior Services (CMSS) on and off since 1997. She started and administered a home services program along with overseeing assisted living and supportive living.  She led the initial CARF accreditation process for CMSS and was also a CARF surveyor. With undergraduate and graduate degrees in gerontology, she was also a part-time lecturer in the Gerontology department at a local college.  She has experienced a winter building evacuation and a home care shelter in place implementation.

JACK DUDEK – Director at Large

Jack has been with CHUG since 2004 and previously served as CHUG President and Treasurer. He has been a licensed Illinois Nursing Home Administrator since 1983 holding positions at HCR Manor Care, Ballard Healthcare and Provena Senior Services. His undergraduate degree is in biology and he has a Masters in Business Administration. He has served as a member of the Nursing Home Cabinet at Life Services Network, a nursing home trade association. He is also a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association ( HFMA). Jack is currently a Vice President with Agile Healthcare.

PAT GERNABIS –Director at Large

John Hurley- Director at Large

John Hurley has 34 years of healthcare management experience. John has served in various consulting roles and has practiced as a licensed healthcare administrator in multiple states.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Health Services Management and his MBA from Benedictine University. Currently, he serves as Executive Director of Wittenberg Village, (Crown Point Indiana) which is Joint Commission Accredited. His experience includes serving on a task force to lower turnover and has volunteered for Illinois Health Care, and Leading Age Associations.  As a former Boy Scout leader, he knows the value of being prepared; he has successfully managed several weather related disasters at health care facilities.
